Indian batter Shreyas Iyer has confessed waving back at a beautiful girl during an Indian Premier League (IPL) game.
Iyer featured on the second episode of Kapil Sharma’s Netflix Show The Great India Kapil Show streamed on Saturday night alongside Indian captain Rohit Sharma
There were conversations with the two about various things Of the few things that Rohit and Shreyas spoke about with Kapil Sharma was the female attention Shreyas receives. The young cricketer revealed how once a beautiful girl caught his attention during his first IPL tournament.
Kapil Sharma said that whenever Shreyas Iyer hits a boundary, the cameraman focuses on girls who have poster of 'Shreyas Marry Me!' "He is also a bachelor," Kapil added. The comedian-cum-actor then asked the cricketer if he later checks with the cameraman where the girl was sitting
Replying to this, Shreyas said, “When I was playing IPL for the first year, I saw a beautiful girl sitting in the stands and I waved hello to her. This is years ago. After the match, I was waiting for her to message me on Facebook, and I kept checking for it. That is the only incident that happened to me.”
It must be noted that Iyer is leading Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in IPL 2024. He started his career with Delhi Capitals (then Delhi Daredevils) in 2015.
On the other hand, Rohit Sharma also talked about Team India losing the 2023 World Cup finals.
“When the match began, we started good. Shubman Gill got out quickly but then Virat Kohli and I had a partnership. We were confident we could achieve a good score. I feel that in big matches if you can score runs and create pressure on the opposite team…because the opposite team has to make runs. But Australia played good cricket. We even managed to take three wickets for just 40 runs but they had a long partnership," he said.
Kapil Sharma, asked Iyer to name a player he looked up to as a kid. Iyer revealed that Rohit has been his idol since childhood, and said that he learned his trait watchig the dynamic opener.
Iyer clarified that he didn't pick Rohit because of the camera or because of the Indian captain standing next him.
